The 50 - 110  metre wide asteroid 2000 YA made a close pass (2.9 lunar distances, 0.0074 AU), travelling at 13.62 km/second, to the Earth-Moon system on the 26th December, 2011 @ 05:36 UT ±00:01.

Asteroid makes close approach
23 December, 2000

Astronomers have tracked a large asteroid moving close to Earth.
The 45-metre-wide space rock, travelling at more than 30 kilometres per second, came within 480,000 kilometres of the planet.
