Refractors are known for their crisp, high contrast views and, in real terms for planetary work, the Evostar 90 refractor will delivers sharp views that will out preform a 6" Newtonian design reflector.
Saturn rings can be easily be seen as well as Saturn's largest moon, Titan.  With favourable conditions, the giant red spot on Jupiter can just be made out.  The Pleiades star cluster should reveal between 80 - 100 stars.
It should be noted that the f10 focal length, while being ideal for planetary work, however, does not suit the telescope for being a 'rich star scope' or a comet hunter (The long focal length will hamper observations of large diffuse objects).  Nor are refractors suited to astrophotography.
The Equatorial mount included with the Evostar 90 EQ will help to track objects, which is very usefull when viewing at high powers. But it is very evident that the EQ-2 equatorial mount is at the cheaper end of the market.
Also, the tripod will produce a notacible wobble when the legs are fully extended,  (A suspended sand bag weight under the tripod may help with the shake).
It should also be noted that the Evostar comes in a cheaper and less useful alt/azimuth mounted version.
All in all, at this price range, the Evostar 90 makes for an ideal beginners, or amateur astronomers telescope.
