A magnitude 13.9 type Ia supernova, 2011aa, was discovered on the 6th February, 2011, by J. Newton and T. Puckett in the galaxy UGC3906 in the constellation Camelopardalis.
The supernova is located 20.4" east and 10.2" south from the center of the galaxy.

Position (2000):  RA = 07 36 42.63, Dec = +74°26'34".7
