Japan intends to build a new rocket by 2008 that would allow it to conduct space flights to the International Space Station (ISS). A spokesman for the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency said the new H2B rocket, designed to deliver cargo to the ISS, would have fuel tanks 40% larger than its H2A predecessor. The agency is seeking 3,800 million yen from the state budget for this project.
