Dozens of people have been injured as a powerful earthquake of magnitude 6.8 hit Japan's northern island of Honshu.
The quake's epicentre was very deep, but it still caused damage to buildings and left thousands without power.

A powerful, 7.0-magnitude earthquake has struck Japan's main island, Honshu, meteorologists say.
The epicentre was in Akita prefecture, 82km (52 miles) north of the city of Sendai.
