Hetal Kanjibhai Vaishnav, a Class XII student from Rajkot in Gujarat, is on cloud nine. She joins the elite list of Indians after whom minor planets or asteroids have been named.
The prestigious Lincoln Laboratory of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has decided to confer Hetal's surname 'Vaishnav' to the minor planet (23636) discovered by it, in recognition of her winning a top award at the 2009 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF).
