Newberry perfect for observatory

The Alachua Astronomy Club is shooting for the stars with its new project, but the club may have to wait for a later launch date.
Bob Lightner, secretary of the club, announced plans for an observing site to be built at the Newberry Sports Complex. The plans, which call for telescopes to be set up for public stargazing, were presented Monday to the Newberry City Commission for its approval.
