Maui fire officials are seeking the cause of a fire that blackened 6,200 acres between Maalaea and Ukumehame last week. Several people camping and fishing in the area when the blaze started told The Maui News that they had seen a bright, fiery object hurtle through the sky and explode against the mountainside.
