Glasgow is shortlisted to host the sporting event along with Medellin in Colombia and Buenos Aires in Argentina. The decision will be made on July 4.
The report focused on the inclusion of Sighthill Park within the masterplan development area and for it to be repositioned to provide a new and improved green space network.
Concern was raised by Councillor Alison Thewliss on the future of the standing stones which reside in the park.

The uncertain future of Sighthill Stone Circle

Seen as a mini-Stonehenge, the Sighthill Stone Circle was the first astronomically aligned circle to be built in Britain for nearly 3000 years, drawing on the brains of Glasgow University, the creative juice of local schoolkids and the money of a 1970s Labour government.
Politics stopped it being fully completed 33 years ago. Now the future of the unfinished landmark could be in doubt as Glasgow prepares to make a bid for the Youth Olympics 2018.

A local amateur astronomer and science writer is hoping to rejuvenate a stone circle in the shadows of Glasgow's Sighthill tower blocks.
Duncan Lunan organised the construction of the circle more than 30 years ago to accurately mirror the rise and fall of the sun and moon over the city.
It was claimed to be the first authentically aligned stone circle built in Britain in about 3,000 years.
