Lineated Valley Fill in Coloe Fossae (PSP_008598_2155) The cause of the lineated valley fill texture may result from patterns of ice rich soils or ice loss.	Clustered Impact Features (PSP_008571_1995) These features might be the result of a loosely conglomerated, stony meteoroid that broke apart during descent.	Domes on the Northern Plains (PSP_008561_2205) Once thought to be volcanic features, recent research suggests that these are mud volcanoes.
Banded Flow Terrain in Hellas Basin (PSP_008559_1405) The region in this image is an example of complex banded terrain known colloquially as taffy-pull terrain.	Mystery Mounds in Southern Acidalia Planitia (PSP_008548_2205) This image shows bright mounds of unclear origin scattered throughout a flat, dark landscape.	Subchannels in Kasei Valles (PSP_008523_2060) This observation shows some smaller channels that have been carved into the floor of one branch of the channel.

Pedestal Crater Margin (PSP_008508_1870) A pedestal crater is one with its ejecta standing above the surrounding terrain.	Polygons, Crater Layers, and Defrosting Dunes (PSP_008426_2595) Because of the presence of ice, it is difficult to determine all the dune types captured in this image.	Layers at Margin of Hellas Impact Basin (PSP_008387_1510) Prominent layers of rock are visible in this image, expressed here as topographic benches and cliffs.
Indicators of Recent Winds on Mars (PSP_007153_2505) Small-scale features, such as ripples and wind tails, indicate the most recent wind directions. Layers in Uzboi Vallis (PSP_008338_1525) Deposits on the floor were emplaced when drainage was blocked by the formation of the rim of Holden Crater.	Sulfates in Aram Chaos (PSP_008311_1835) This image is from Aram Chaos, a large crater connected to the Ares Vallis outflow channel.	Crater Floor Fan (PSP_008233_1920) The material was transported into the crater through a valley, likely by running water.
Layered Rocks in Iani Chaos (PSP_008100_1790) The rocks here are light-toned, and have dark low patches which are likely a thin cover of wind-blown sand.	Slope Streaks in Unnamed Crater in Amazonis Region (PSP_006773_1735) Slope streaks are thought to be small-scale dust avalanches that usually are dark when they form but fade into the background over time.	Buttes and Knobs in Cydonia Region (PSP_005924_2210) This region gained notoriety when Viking imaged a landform that looked like a face.

Proposed MSL Landing Site in Mawrth Vallis - Ellipse 4 (PSP_008390_2050) This surface is scientifically compelling for the MSL rover, although some of the terrain can be somewhat rough.	Proposed MSL Landing Site in Mawrth Vallis - Ellipse 4 (PSP_008324_2050) Mawrth Vallis has a rich mineral diversity, including clay minerals that formed by the chemical alteration of rocks by water.	Small Channel in Elysium Planitia (PSP_008265_1860) This image shows the head of a small, dry channel in Elysium Planitia, which is a low-lying area north of Mars equator.
North Polar Layered Deposits (PSP_008244_2645) The differences from layer to layer are thought to reflect differences in the climate of Mars that existed when the layers were formed.	Awakening Dunes (PSP_008208_2600) The dark patches and streaks show sand that has begun escaping from a blanket of seasonal frost.
