The possible nova was discovered by K. Nishiyama and F. Kabashima (Japan) on the 24th April, 2010.

A possible magnitude 11.2 nova was discovered on the 23rd April, 2010, in the constellation Sagittarius.

Position (2000): RA 17 53 02.98, Dec -28 12 19.4
