This project has been a classified military secret for over 10 years.

Blastoff of the unmanned X-37B space plane from Kennedy Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida Space Centre was delayed until Thursday, April 22, to allow Discovery to return to earth at the nearby Kennedy Space Centre. With many of its features kept secret, the project has sparked speculation that the little Orbital Test Vehicle is the space version of the US Predator drone.

After a decade of development, the Air Force this month plans to launch a robotic spacecraft resembling a small space shuttle to conduct technology tests in orbit and then glide home to a California runway.
The ultimate purpose of the X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle and details about the craft, which has been passed between several government agencies, however, remain a mystery as it is prepared for launch April 19 from Cape Canaveral, Florida.

The U.S. has built a brand new space shuttle, and it's ready to launch next month.
It's called the X-37B/OTV. It's about one-fourth the size of the space shuttle, and it was originally intended to carry six astronauts.
Now inside the hangar at Astrotech in Titusville, it's ready to launch into space but without a crew.
The mini-shuttle, referred to as X-37, was quietly developed at Boeing's Phantom Works.
