India to launch cartography satellite in June

The Indian space agency is expected to launch June 5 its Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C15), carrying a cartography satellite and a couple of other payloads, according to the US-based space consultancy firm Futron Corp.
But a source in the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) told IANS that the launch is most likely to happen during the second week of June.
The 44-metre tall PSLV is a four-stage (engine) rocket powered by solid and liquid propellants alternatively.

Cartosat 2B leaves for Sriharikota

After the failure of the GSLV-D3 launch, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Saturday morning flagged off the Cartosat 2B high resolution satellite's journey to Sriharikota.
The remote sensing satellite is now en route to Sriharikota from where it will be launched by PSLV-16, along with four other satellites, on May 9

ISRO to launch Cartosat-2B on May 9

Undeterred by the GSLV-D3 mission failure, India is going ahead with the launch of an advanced remote-sensing satellite Cartosat-2B, now tentatively fixed for May 9 from Sriharikota spaceport.
The high-resolution spacecraft, designed for an operational life of five years, is slated to be launched from the first launchpad on May 9 around 10 am.

India will shortly launch Cartosat-2B, a high-resolution remote sensing satellite, that will aid in infrastructure and urban planning, Indian Space Research Organisation Chairman K Radhakrishnan said on Thursday.
The launch was expected by March end or mid-April and the exact date would be finalised at the mission readiness review meeting on February 10, he told reporters here.
