"Galileo's Legacy" by Dr Martin Hendry, Tuesday January 12th, 7pm, CTO Cromwell Tower Observatory, Old Aberdeen.
In this lecture, as a brief "retrospective" on the International Year of Astronomy 2009, Martin will explore Galileo Galilei's remarkable discoveries - about our Solar System and the Milky Way galaxy - explaining how they transformed our understanding of the Universe. He will also highlight some of Galileo's wider contributions to science and how they have helped to shape the milestones of 400 years of scientific history.
