Bridgewater State observatory to open for star-gazing

The observatory at Bridgewater State University will be open free to the public on Feb. 27and 29 and March 2 and 3 as Mars passes its closest to Earth in more than two years.

Dome goes up at new building at Bridgewater State

On Friday, the dome was placed on the new observatory on the roof of Bridgewater State University's new Marshall Conant Science Building.

Chance to get a closer look at Mars

Mars approaches close to Earth once every 25 months or so.
Later this month, Mars will be closer to Earth than it will be for the next two years. The closest approach will occur on Jan. 29, so the Bridgewater State College Observatory is planning to make the most of it.
