Naval Research Laboratory engineers have completed all environmental and performance testing on the TacSat-4 COMMx payload. This completes the entire TacSat-4 spacecraft as the spacecraft bus was completed in May 2008. TacSat-4 is the fourth in a series of U.S. military experimental reconnaissance and communication satellites. The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) is the program manager. The Office of Naval Research (ONR) sponsored the development of the payload and funded the first year of operations. Read more
Ed ~ The US Air Force Minotaur 4 rocket is scheduled to launch the TacSat 4 demonstration satellite from the Kodiak Launch Complex, Alaska, sometime this summer, (launch date and time will be posted when it becomes available).
