Brisbane can now stake a claim on a small part of the cosmos after the city had an asteroid named after it.
The rock, estimated to be about 7 kilometres in diameter, is believed to be about half the size of the asteroid which slammed into Earth 65 million years ago, wiping out the dinosaurs.
