Educators unveiled a new teaching tool Tuesday that they hope will make children realise that the Milky Way is not just the name of a candy bar.
For decades, students have walked past the dome-shaped building between the middle school and the high school, but were never allowed to go inside.

School observatory shines again
The stars aligned just right for Lincoln Park Middle School students when a 45-year-old abandoned observatory reopened this week on school grounds during the 400th anniversary of Galileo's use of a telescope.
The project was initiated by community members impassioned about renovating the building and adding state-of-the-art technology rivalling any school statewide, including prestigious Cranbrook, Superintendent Randy Kite said.
