Russias Roskosmos Space Agency suggests two scenarios of operations at Baikonur

Russia may bring its operations at the Baikonur cosmodrome close to zero as early as by 2020, according to Russia's Izvestia.
According to Roskosmos, along the crisis scenario, Baikonur infrastructure will only be supported after 2021 to accommodate individual launches. The scenario envisages that "after 2020 there might be legal, organisational and social conditions, wherein operation of launches from Baikonur will be hardly possible".

Russia presented Kazakhstan with ultimatum over Baikonur

Russian Interior Ministry has delivered an official note to Kazakhstan regarding the situation around the use of Baikonur cosmodrome. The document contains a list of measures that Moscow is ready to take if Kazakhstan does not reconsider its restrictions on rocket launch from Baikonur in 2013, Izvestiya newspaper writes.

Russia to exit Baikonur and Space Cooperation with Kazakhstan

Recent report by Eurasia Daily monitor, indicate that Russia is now ready to implement a new policy as far as it concern the space cooperation with Kazakhstan , specifically on the subject of the use of the Baikonur cosmodrome. Probably the issue of much to do with the long and ongoing discussion about the construction of a new launch site , but whatever the case the situation seems on the verge of breaking a long term cooperation.

On February 12, 1955, the first military construction units arrived at Tyura-Tam railroad siding (station) to launch the construction of a new missile test range - Scientific-Research Test Range No. 5 of the Soviet Defence Ministry (NIIP-5), currently known as the Baikonur Space Centre.
