The man in charge of Australia's largest optical telescope will discuss its scientific achievement and future role at a Macarthur Astronomical Society meeting this month. Professor Fred Watson is astronomer-in-charge of the Anglo Australian Telescope in Coonabarabran. Backyard astronomers keen to see Jupiter up close will have their chance on Saturday night. The Macarthur Astronomical Society will host an astronomy open night from 6pm at the University of Western Sydney observatory at Campbelltown, for people keen to see the giant planet and its four largest moons.
