A United Launch Alliance Delta-2 rocket, in a 7920-10L launch vehicle configuration, is scheduled to launch the Space Tracking and Surveillance System Advanced Technology Risk Reduction (STSS-ATRR) research and development mission from the Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, USA on the 5th May, 2009. The US Missile Defence Agency mission was previously called the Block 2010 Spacecraft Risk Reduction mission. The mission will serve as a technology testing and demonstration for the Space Tracking and Surveillance Systems part of the Space-Based Infrared System.
