 Sun Live Event at the Clanfield Observatory

Clanfield Observatory offer a rare chance to see the Sun in Real time using special Sun Filters. Depending on the weather conditions and the activity on the Sun this is a chance to see Prominences and Sun Spots using Hydrogen Alpha and other special Filters. Should the weather prevent views of the Sun an illustrated talk about the Sun will be given.
Entrance is exclusively by pre purchased tickets priced at £5:00 Adults £3 for 16 and under each.

Clanfield Observatory has come up with a host of events to coincide with the first International Year of Astronomy.
This year, 2009, is the 400th anniversary of the first astronomical use of a telescope by Galileo to study the night sky.
The Spring Moon Watch from March 28 to April 5 is the best time of year to observe the very young waxing crescent moon and then watch its day-by-day changing phase pass through the first quarter.
