Mozilla's Firefox browser moves closer to its official 2.0 release

For you Firefox fiends out there, Firefox 2.0 Beta 1 RC has been released. Microsoft has been garnering a lot of attention recently with the public betas of its Internet Explorer 7.0 browser, so the Mozilla Foundation can now steal a bit of that limelight.
There are versions of the new browser available for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X even though the official announcement isn’t expected from Mozilla until tomorrow. Features included with this latest release include anti-phishing technology, built-in spell checking, session restore, Undo Close Tab and scrolling tabs.

The Firefox Extension Backup Extension (FEBE) lets you backup all of your extensions, themes, bookmarks, preferences, and even cookies (you can pick and choose if you don't want to backup everything), while it's counterpart, CLEO (Compact Library Extension Organizer) bundles everything into a single .xpi file that you can install on any installation of Firefox.

If there are times you want to surf the web without leaving a trace in your local computer, then Stealther is the right extension for you.

What it does is temporarily disable the following:
- Browsing History (also in Address bar)
- Cookies
- Downloaded Files History
- Disk Cache
- Saved Form Information
- Sending of ReferrerHeader.

None of the affected options gets cleared totally as opposed to some other extensions which enable you to wipe these privacy issues with a single click, but at the same time leaving you without the history of your frequently visited websites.

Usage:
- [Tools / Stealther] menu option
- Toolbar button
- [Ctrl+Shift+S] keyboard shortcut

Options are available through Extensions dialog.

Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.3 - Final - faster, more secure, easier to use and sporting a new look, this latest Firefox release sets a new standard for web browser innovation.

This version has a redesign of Mozilla's browser component, written using the XUL user interface language and designed to be cross-platform. It is small, fast and easy to use, and offers many advantages over other web browsers, such as the tabbed browsing and the ability to block pop-up windows.

Firefox 1.5.0.3 is going to be released within the next few days in order to fix a critical security update that was found earlier this week.

These are candidate builds which are very likely to be released as the final version but they are undergoing some testing to make sure they are stable.
