Asteroid (23408) 1977 TU3 has been renamed `Beijing Aoyun`, (Beijing Olympics) by the Minor Planet Centre on August 24, the day the Olympics concluded. The asteroid was discovered by the Purple Mountain Astronomical Observatory, Nanking, on October 12, 1977 in the constellation Taurus. The asteroid orbits the sun every 5.3 years, with an average distance of 458 million kilometres from the sun, and an eccentricity of 0.19.
