The Soyuz-2.1b rocket with the Persona satellite was successfully launched from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in northern Russia at 18:31 GMT, 16th July, 2008.
The launch of a Persona military reconnaissance satellite aboard a Soyuz Soyuz-2.1b rocket from Site LC-43/4 at the Plesetsk Cosmodrome has been postponed by twenty-four hours. Launch had been scheduled for 18:50 UTC, 25 July 2008.
"The state commission led by Space Troops Commander Maj. Gen. Oleg Ostapenko has decided to postponed the launch of the Soyuz 2 rocket carrier with the spacecraft for 24 hours" - Commander Alexei Zolotukhin, Assistant to the Space Troops.
