A Russian Soyuz rocket with a Soyuz TMA-12 spacecraft and Expedition 17 crew will launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan, at 11:16 GMT, 8th April, 2008. The Expedition 17 crew, station commander Sergei Volkov, flight engineer Oleg Kononenko and South Korean spaceflight participant So-yeon Yi are expected to dock at the International Space Station (ISS) on the 10th April. The Soyuz capsule will remain at the station for about six months, and provide an escape pod for the ISS crew.
