The diffuse object found by Andrea Boatitini on images taken by the Catalina Sky Survey on February 01, 2008, was confirmed by later observations by Tim Spahr , and linked with an object having the appearance of an asteroid found by Catalina on November 03, 2007. The orbital elements of comet P/2007 VQ11 (Catalina) indicate a perihelion passage on February 13, 2008 at a distance of 2.7 AU from the Sun, and having a 12.58 years period.
