On Jan. 10, 2008, a 1.2 km-wide asteroid, 2005 WJ56, will make a close flyby (2.6 million miles, 10.9 lunar distances) of the Earth. The asteroid will appear as a magnitude 11.6 star in the constellation Taurus.
