A new comet was discovered on October 09, 2007 by Richard A. Kowalski and the Catalina Sky Survey. The cometary nature of the magnitude 16.5 object was confirmed by later observations.
The preliminary orbital elements of the periodic comet P/2007 T2 (Kowalski) indicate a perihelion passage on September 19, 2007 at a distance of 0.6 AU of the Sun, and a 5.9 years period.
