George Takei who played Sulu on Star Trek now has his name on an asteroid.
The  asteroid formerly known as 1994 GT9, is located between Mars and Jupiter, and has been renamed 7307 Takei in honour of the actor.
The asteroid was discovered by two Japanese astronomers, Y. Shimizu, T. Urata in April, 1994.
