A possible magnitude 13.5, Supernova was discovered on the 13th September, 2007, by Robert Evans (Australia) in the spiral galaxy NGC 5530 in the constellation Lupus.
The supernova is Located 24" west and 25" north of the nucleus of the galaxy.

Position(2000): R.A. = 14h18m25s.6, Dec. = -43°22'54".0

As yet the type is unknown .

"...not to be confused with a bright foreground star on the northeast edge of the nucleus"
