The Conference on Large Meteorite Impacts and Planetary Evolution IV will be held August 1822, 2008, at the Sunwa River Lodge, South Africa. The Sunwa River Lodge is located in the most scenic part of the Vredefort Dome, the central uplift feature of the world's largest and oldest known impact structure the Vredefort-Wi****ersrand Structure and one of the world's newest World Heritage Sites. The lodge is set in the dense woods adjacent to the Vaal River, 100 km southwest of Johannesburg. Because of the location, excursions to Vredefort will not require lengthy travel time. The organizers have negotiated a package deal with the lodge owners that will include accommodations, transfer by luxury coach from Johannesburg, all meals, and all social events. Details will be included in the second announcement, along with the call for abstracts.
