Glastonbury festival organiser Michael Eavis is remaining upbeat about the event despite forecasts predicting heavy thunderstorms over the weekend. Almost 100,000 festival-goers are already estimated to have arrived at his small farm in the Somerset village of Pilton for the year's ultimate music celebration which officially begins tomorrow. Eavis revealed that the number of revellers who had arrived early for the festival had doubled compared to those for the last event in 2005.
