Atmospheric phenomenon

For the first time, I have received a request for an article on a certain topic atmospheric phenomena. While many articles have focused on space-borne objects and activities, there is much splendour to be had within that thin envelop of gas that makes life possible on our planet.
The most famous atmospheric phenomenon is certainly the rainbow. Sunlight passing through raindrops is spread out into its constituent colours in a brilliant arc across the sky. Occasionally, we can even see a double rainbow one inside the other in which sunlight is bent twice before being reflected back to our eye.
The most common atmospheric phenomenon is certainly the meteor. In fact, meteor actually means of the air. While it was known to the Ancient Greeks that meteors were an atmospheric phenomenon, it wasn't until the nineteenth century that they were accepted as falling space rocks.
