Comet 2007 F1 (LONEOS) has brightened to magnitude 4.3; but is low down in the evening skies. The comet, currently located near the Coma Bootis boarder, will be 9 degrees west of Arcturus on the 17th October. Comet C/2007 F1 ( LONEOS ) is expected to reach perihelion on October 28th, 2007, at a distance of 0.4 A.U. from the sun. In early November it will appear as a magnitude 7 object in the evening sky for Southern Hemisphere observers.
Comet C/2007 F1 (LONEOS) may brighten to become a visual morning object in October (However it will be close to the Sun). The comet will pass close to the NGC 4278 elliptical galaxy on October 8.
