NGC 2832 (also Arp 315, MCG 6-21-15, UGC 4942 and PGC 26377) is a magnitude +11.8 elliptical galaxy located 319 million light-years away in the constellation Lynx.
The galaxy along with NGC 2830 and NGC 2831 are listed as Arp 315 in the Atlas of peculiar galaxies by Halton Arp. The galaxy triplet Arp 315 is part of the larger Abell 779 galaxy cluster which contains 83 galaxies.

The galaxy was likely first discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel, using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Clayhall Farm House in Old Windsor on the 7th December 1785, but misassigned to NGC 2830.
The galaxy is listed as being discovered by Anglo-Irish astronomer George Stoney using a 182.88 cm (72 inch) speculum reflector at Birr castle on the 13th March 1850.

The galaxy hosted supernova 2014ai
