A magnitude 15.8 supernova, 2007C, was discovered on the 7th January, 2007, by Koichi Itagaki in the Sb/Sc spiral galaxy NGC 4981, in the constellation Virgo.
The supernova is located 8".3 east, 21" south of the centre of the galaxy.

Position(20000): R.A. = 13h08m49s.32, Dec. = -06°47'00".3

As yet the type is unknown
