Russia's Strategic Missile Forces successfully launched an RS-18 (SS-19 Stiletto) intercontinental ballistic missile from the Baikonur space center in Kazakhstan on the 30th October, 2007.
According to Russia’s Missile Forces its RS-20V Voyevoda intercontinental ballistic missile has been tested successfully, United Press International reports. The test of the long-range missile, that NATO has given the codename SS-18 Satan, launched from the Russian city of Orenburg and reportedly accurately hit predetermined hypothetical targets on the Kamchatka Peninsula. A Missile Forces spokesman said the test was conducted in order to determine if the R-36M2 missile systems should have its service life extended to 20 years.
