Colorado company launches rocket carrying missile-warning satellite

There is a new mode of defence for the U.S. and its allies after a satellite launched Saturday with a Colorado connection.
Colorado-based United Launch Alliance launched a rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida, with Buckley Air Force Base acting as mission control.

An Atlas V rocket launched from Cape Canaveral Air Force station Saturday.
The rocket is carrying the highly sophisticated Air Force's Space Based Infrared Systems (SBIRS) GEO-1 payload. The satellite is designed to detect missile strikes in volatile places around the globe.
