The successful launch of a R-29RM Sineva/SS-N-23 missile by a Project 667BDRM/Dela IV class strategic submarine of the Russian Northern Fleet was seeming by the K-114 Tula which was recently overhauled in January 2006.
The missile was launched from the submerged submarine at 06:25 UTC on June 30, 2006.
A Russian nuclear-powered submarine from the Northern Fleet successfully launched a ballistic missile from the Barents Sea in combat training, on Friday.
The RSM-54 missile was fired from the submarine at 06:25 GMT (10:25 Moscow time) towards the Kura testing range on the Kamchatka Peninsula.

The launch of the sea-based missile has been the second of its kind so far this year. The first was launched on May 26, when the Northern Fleet shot into space a Kompas-2 satellite on the Shtil carrier rocket .
