NGC 3359 (also MCG +11-13-37, UGC 5873, IRAS 10433+6329 and PGC 32183) is a magnitude +10.6 almost face-on barred spiral galaxy located 49 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 28th November 1793.
The galaxy hosted the type II supernova 1985H, discovered on the 12th April 1985.
