NGC 4874 (also MCG+05-31-070, Coma A, UGC 8103 and PGC 44628) is a magnitude +11.9 supergiant elliptical galaxy located 303 ±37 million light-years away in the constellation Coma Berenices.
It belongs to the Abell 1656 (Coma) cluster of galaxies. The central region of Abell 1656 is dominated by the two supergiant elliptical galaxies: NGC 4874 and NGC 4884

The galaxy can be found near to NGC 4884, and the star HD 112887.

The galaxy was discovered by German-Danish astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 Merz-Refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 5th May 1864.
The galaxy was probably first discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Datchet, Berkshire, on the 11th April 1785; however, due to the inaccuracy of his position given to the object, the first discoverer is often considered to be Heinrich Louis d'Arrest.

The galaxy has hosted supernova 1968B and SN 1981G.
