Ernest Leonard Johnson (December 28, 1891 - June 1977) was a South African astronomer, and former member of the Union Observatory in Johannesburg from which he retired in 1956. He discovered 18 asteroids between 1946 and 1951 and some comets, including periodic comet 48P/Johnson. Johnson was the winner of two Donohoe medals, namely 241° and 245°.
