NGC 7479 (also Caldwell 44, UGC 12343 and PGC 70419) is a magnitude +11.6 barred spiral galaxy located 105 million light-years away in the constellation Pegasus.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Datchet, Berkshire, on the 19th October 1784.
The galaxy hosted Supernovae SN 1990U and SN2009jf
