NGC 6782 (also IRAS 19195-6001, 2MASX J19235793-5955210 and PGC 63168) is a magnitude +11.8 barred spiral galaxy located 183 million light-years away in the constellation Pavo.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Feldhausen Observatory in Wynberg, Cape Town, on the 12th July 1834.
