NGC 5437 (IC 4365, MCG 2-36-28 and PGC 51227) is a magnitude +14.3 spiral galaxy located 325 million light-years away in the constellation Boötes.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Wilhelm Tempel using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/19 refracting telescope at the Arcetri Observatory on the 28th June 1883. The galaxy was observed by French astronomer Guillaume Bigourdan in 1897 and relisted as IC 4365.
