NGC 5148 (also MCG 1-34-21 and PGC 47060) is a magnitude +14.2 face-on spiral galaxy located 309 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Albert Marth using a 121.92 cm (48 inch) speculum reflector at William Lassell's Tigné Point observatory in Sliema, Malta, on the 30th April 1864.
