NGC 1511 (also ESO 55-4, IRAS 03594-6746 and PGC 14236) is a magnitude +11.3 spiral galaxy located 62 million light-years away in the constellation Hydrus.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflecting telescope at Feldhausen, Claremont, Cape Town on the 2nd November 1834.
