NGC 1526 (also ESO 84-3, IRAS 04048-6558 and PGC 14437) is a magnitude +13.7 barred spiral galaxy located 245 million light-years away in the constellation Reticulum.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflecting telescope at Feldhausen, Claremont, Cape Town on the 2nd November 1834.
