NGC 408 (also MCG 1-3-1, UGC 473 and PGC 2653) is a magnitude +13.5 star located in the constellation Pisces.
The star was discovered by Swedish astronomer Per Magnus Herman Schultz using a 24.38 cm (9.6 inch) f/17.7 Steinheil refractor at the Uppsala Observatory, Sweden on the 22nd October 1867.
